About this product

Two flat, contoured stones cut specifically to sit in the hollow under and around the eye rather than to be rolled across it. One is nephrite and one is rose quartz, so you can decide which cool you prefer without buying twice. Each has a slight concave face and a rounded rim, which is what lets it rest against the orbital bone without a pressure point.

They come in a shallow aluminium tin that stacks flat in a refrigerator door, which matters more than it sounds: stones that live in a tin in the fridge get used, and stones in a drawer do not. Held flat against closed eyes for a minute or two, they are the simplest thing on this shelf. Non-electronic, nothing to charge.

How to use the stones

The simplest tools on the shelf, with two notes: where they live, and how cold is too cold.

Keep the tin in the refrigerator door
Not the freezer, and not a drawer. Stones that are already cold when you want them get used; stones you have to remember to chill do not.
Hold flat, do not drag
Rest the concave face against closed eyelids or in the hollow beneath the eye and simply hold it there for a minute or two. These are not rollers and there is no stroke to learn.
Never apply a frozen stone
Refrigerator cold is the point. A stone straight from a freezer is cold enough to be uncomfortable against eyelid skin, which is the thinnest on the body.
Wipe and return them
A soft damp cloth, dried at once, and back in the tin. Do not soak them and do not leave them loose where they can chip.

Why two different stones?: So you can find out which you prefer without buying two separate tools. Jade runs colder for longer; quartz is gentler and warms a little faster.
Can I use these instead of the roller?: For the under-eye area specifically, many people prefer them, because there is no technique to get wrong. For the rest of the face a roller covers ground far faster.
How long should I hold them on?: A minute or two per eye is plenty. If the skin starts to feel numb rather than cool, the stone is too cold or has been there too long.
